COLOCATION SERVICES
Half Rack Colocation
Locking half racks with redundant A+B power, cooling and carrier-neutral connectivity, built for smaller deployments and edge workloads.
INSIDE OUR FACILITIES
Enterprise infrastructure, without the full-cabinet cost
A half cabinet is a 21U fractional cabinet with its own locked, dedicated space. It’s built for organizations that have outgrown a server closet but don’t need a full rack.
There’s no second-tier space. Half cabinet customers run in the same facilities, on the same power, with the same support as our largest enterprise customers.
NETWORK & CONNECTIVITY
Interconnection options for every architecture
Carrier-neutral access, in-house blended internet, and private cloud on-ramps, at multiple performance and price points.
Meet-Me-Room access
Cross connect to any carrier in the facility, with fast turn-up from your cabinet to the MMR. No required house network and no preferred provider.
Carrier ListBlended IP transit
Dual-carrier internet with BGP and automatic failover, operated by ValorC3. One handoff, one invoice, and service that rides through a carrier event.
Blended IPMegaport on-ramp
Private access to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and other data centers. Keep traffic off the public internet and help reduce egress costs.
Cloud ConnectivitySTRATEGIC LOCATIONS
Half cabinets available in Boise and St. George facilities
Markets chosen for strong networks, stable power, and low natural disaster risk.
Boise (BOI-1)
Half racks in Boise, backed by strong regional connectivity, competitive Idaho power rates and low seismic risk. Close enough to drive over, with technicians on-site 24/7.
Boise Data Center (BOI-1)
St. George (STG-1)
Half racks in southern Utah, on a separate power grid and network path from the Wasatch Front. A smart fit for a small production footprint or a disaster recovery site.
St. George Data Center (STG-1)
Oklahoma City (OKC-1)
OKC-1 is fully leased, proof of the demand our enterprise colocation and build-to-suit capabilities can meet, in a hardened, weather-engineered facility.
Oklahoma City Data Center (OKC-1)BUILT FOR RELIABILITY
Smaller footprint, enterprise-grade redundancy
Half cabinet customers get the same facilities, power, and support as our enterprise customers. No second-tier space and no shortcuts.

- 99.9% colocation uptime guarantee
- Carrier-neutral colocation with direct cross connects
- Remote hands on site when you need them
USE CASES
Common workloads that fit half cabinet
Supporting specific deployments, such as a closet relocation or an offsite recovery site, without a full-cabinet minimum.
Server closet relocation
Move a server closet into a facility built for critical infrastructure, with the correct power, cooling, and controlled access.
Network infrastructure
Place network gear where carriers already meet. Reach providers you cannot get in the office, with low-latency edge paths.
Offsite DR and backup
Host backup appliances and recovery hardware offsite. Keep copies off production systems and ready to restore.
Cloud on-ramp acces
Connect your infrastructure to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle through a Megaport cloud on-ramp in the facility.
Lab and test environments
Isolated hardware that behaves like production. Keep experiments off the office network and live systems.
Legacy applications
Host applications that cannot move to a virtualized environment, including cases where licensing requires physical servers.
RELATED SERVICES
Managed cloud, on-site support, and interconnection
Cross-connects to reach carriers and on-ramps. Remote hands and cloud when you need support or virtual infrastructure.
Enterprise cloud
Managed IaaS, DRaaS, and BaaS on Valor Cloud. Use it instead of more physical servers, or beside the cabinet for virtual workloads and recovery.
Enterprise CloudRemote hands
On-site technicians for rack work, swaps, eyes-on-glass, and after-hours tasks so you do not drive to the facility for routine work.

Your half rack questions, answered
What buyers ask when evaluating data centers, colocation and connectivity services.
Is a half cabinet the same as a half rack?
Yes. The terms are used interchangeably for half-height, separately secured rack space.
Who is a half rack right for?
A half rack fits businesses that have outgrown a server closet but don’t need a full cabinet. Common uses include a small production environment, a disaster recovery site, network and edge gear, or a first move out of the office. You get enterprise power, cooling and security without paying for space you won’t use.
Where are half racks available?
Half racks are available in limited quantities at our Boise (BOI-1) and St. George (STG-1) data centers. Both are carrier-neutral, with redundant A+B power and on-site technicians 24/7. St. George also sits on a separate power grid and network path from the Wasatch Front, which makes it a strong disaster recovery site.
Is internet included?
Bandwidth isn’t bundled, so you only pay for what you need. You can add blended IP transit from us or bring your own carrier with a cross connect. Megaport cloud on-ramps are also available for direct, private connections to AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
Can I upgrade to a full rack?
Yes. When you need more space or power, we’ll move you into a full rack in the same facility. Your team works with ours to plan the move and keep downtime to a minimum. Pricing is based on the full rack’s space and power.
