Data Center Connectivity: Carrier-neutral, with no lock-in

Connect to local, regional and global carriers, run our blended internet, or reach the cloud directly through Megaport, all from data centers we own and operate.

HOW TO CONNECT

Choose your carrier, use blended internet, or direct connects to the cloud

Power and cooling stay redundant no matter what, but your network is the one thing we can’t fix from our side if it goes down. That’s why connectivity choice matters more here than almost anywhere else in your stack.

Choose from the carriers already on-site, run our own blended internet, or connect directly to the cloud, and use any combination of the three.

THREE WAYS TO CONNECT

Data center connectivity built for low-latency performance

Network infrastructure engineered for the connections your architecture demands.

Choose your carrier

Cross connect to any carrier already on-site, billed and contracted directly with them, with provisioning that typically takes several weeks.

CARRIER PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

A full suite of options, through the carriers on-site

Every carrier offers something different. We know the options and matches you with the right one.

Dedicated internet access

A private, guaranteed-bandwidth connection, not shared with any other tenant, for workloads that can’t tolerate variable performance or dropped packets.

Blended IP transit

Traffic routed across multiple upstream providers at once, giving you redundancy and optimized paths without managing several carrier relationships yourself.

Point to point

A private, dedicated circuit connecting two specific locations directly, commonly used to link data centers, offices or disaster recovery sites.

Dark fiber

Unlit fiber optic cable leased directly to you, giving full control over the equipment, protocol and bandwidth running across that connection.

SD-WAN

A software-defined overlay that routes traffic across your connections automatically, shifting to backup paths the moment one degrades or fails.

MPLS networks

A private routing technology that directs traffic by label instead of address, still widely used for predictable, secure site-to-site enterprise connections today.

CARRIER PARTNERS

BUILD FOR REDUNDANCY

Carrier networks fail. We give you options when they do

Hardware fails, fiber gets cut, weather takes down a line, a bad config breaks a route. It happens to every carrier eventually. Most run diverse paths into our facilities, aerial and buried fiber on separate routes, backed by redundant routers and switches.

But carrier-level redundancy only goes so far. Our two-carrier blended internet adds another layer, active-active with BGP routing around any failure. Pick a single carrier, or pair one with a second for that protection.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your connectivity questions, answered

What buyers ask about data center interconnection, carriers and cloud connectivity.

What is data center interconnect (DCI)?

A carrier-neutral facility isn’t locked into a single network provider. Multiple carriers operate on-site, competing on their own merits, so you choose the provider that fits your requirements instead of being routed through one house network.

What does carrier-neutral data center mean?

A carrier-neutral facility isn’t locked into a single network provider. Multiple carriers operate on-site, competing on their own merits, so you choose the provider that fits your requirements instead of being routed through one house network.

How much bandwidth do I need?

Most enterprises run comfortably in the 1Gbps range. Heavier workloads often move to 10Gbps, and AI inference or training workloads frequently need 10Gbps to 100Gbps, sometimes higher. Not every carrier offers every speed, our team can match you with a provider that fits your actual requirement.

How much does internet cost at a data center?

Most enterprises run comfortably in the 1Gbps range. Heavier workloads often move to 10Gbps, and AI inference or training workloads frequently need 10Gbps to 40Gbps, sometimes higher. Not every carrier offers every speed, our team can match you with a provider that fits your actual requirement.

What are the different types of interconnection?

Common types include dedicated internet access, blended internet, point-to-point circuits, dark fiber, cross connects, and software-defined options like SD-WAN. Each fits a different need, from guaranteed bandwidth to full control over the physical fiber itself.

How are data centers connected to each other?

Through carrier circuits, dark fiber, or dedicated point-to-point connections, depending on distance and how much bandwidth and redundancy the deployment requires.

What is dark fiber?

Dark fiber is unlit fiber optic cable leased directly to you, with no carrier equipment or service running on it. You control the equipment, protocol and bandwidth end to end.

What is BGP?

Border Gateway Protocol is the routing protocol that determines how internet traffic finds its path between networks. It’s what allows automatic failover, when one carrier path has a problem, BGP reroutes traffic to the other, with no manual intervention required.

What are the benefits of dedicated internet access?

Dedicated internet guarantees your bandwidth, it’s not shared with other tenants. Best-effort connections share capacity across users, so performance can vary under load. For production workloads, dedicated is the standard.

What are the benefits of blended internet?

Blended internet routes traffic across multiple carriers at once, so you get automatic failover if one has a problem, without paying for two separate services or managing two carrier relationships yourself. It’s typically faster to provision than a new dedicated circuit, and with our blended product, it’s billed on one invoice alongside your colocation and cloud services.
