Private Suite

COLOCATION SERVICES

Private Suites: Built to your specifications, secured to your standards

A fully enclosed room, from a portion of a data hall to the entire space, with power, cooling, and access control engineered around your workload and controlled by you.

INSIDE OUR FACILITIES

A data center within a data center, built to your specification

A private suite replaces an open perimeter with a fully enclosed room, secured under your access control policy: keycard, biometric, CCTV, or all three. Power, cooling, and fire suppression are built around your design and requirements.

This is the tier above a private cage, reserved for deployments where regulation, workload sensitivity, or scale requires complete physical isolation, and room to grow into over years rather than months.

Data Center LOCATIONS

Where custom infrastructure gets the space it needs

Strong networks, stable power grids, and low natural disaster risk across high-growth regional markets.

Boise, Idaho

Idaho’s largest enterprise data center campus, with contiguous space to build a suite around your design. Limited seismic and severe-weather exposure.

Explore Boise

St. George, Utah

100% uptime since 2008. Near the Las Vegas Strip with low latency, and on a power grid and network path separate from Salt Lake City for true geographic diversity.

Explore St. George

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

A hardened, severe-weather rated facility on central U.S. routes, recommissioned in 2024 with expanded capacity. OKC-1 is fully leased today.

NETWORK & CONNECTIVITY

A fiber-rich ecosystem, built for carrier diversity

Carrier density, diverse fiber routes, and direct cloud on-ramps for hybrid IT, engineered around your deployment.

Carrier density

Wide range of carriers already on-site to choose from, with room for your provider to extend service in if they’re not already here.

Diverse fiber routes

Physically separate entry points reduce the risk of a single cut or outage taking down your connectivity.

Dark fiber

Dedicated, private connections between two locations, no shared bandwidth, no public internet in the path.

PROVEN RELIABILITY

Reliability engineered like your own facility, without owning one

Redundant power and cooling, N+1 generation, UPS, and a concurrently maintainable design, built into your suite’s own dedicated infrastructure and backed by the same standard that runs the rest of the facility.

Beyond the suite: cages, build-to-suit and cloud

Private cages, build-to-suit projects and cloud for hybrid IT. Three paths for a different scale or model.

Private cages

Private cages provide a locked perimeter fence on the floor for deployments that don’t need a fully enclosed room, with room to grow into racks over time.

Build-to-suit

An entire facility, built to your specifications, for anchor tenants and hyperscale deployments beyond what an existing suite can hold.

Cloud services

Run workloads on Valor Cloud for backup, disaster recovery, or scaling beyond your suite’s footprint without a physical build-out.

CUSTOMER STORY

138 years in business. Their old provider still couldn’t guarantee physical separation

Boart Longyear runs mining and drilling operations worldwide, the kind of footprint where a shared, open floor wasn’t going to cut it for their security and compliance needs. They needed dedicated, access-controlled space, not just a rack in someone else’s room.

Since 2017, Boart has operated private cages in two ValorC3 facilities: St. George and, as of 2025, Boise. It’s the same principle a private suite takes further: physical separation, under your own access control, built around what the deployment actually requires.

“They’re not just there to push a product and get more money. They’re an engaged, hands-on advisor who cares about our success.” — Data Center Operations Manager, Boart Longyear

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your private suite questions, answered

Common questions from teams comparing colocation providers and facilities.

What is a private suite in a data center?

A private suite is a fully enclosed, hard-walled room within the facility, with its own dedicated entry point, reserved for one customer. It’s the most isolated option short of a standalone facility: no shared mesh walls, no adjacent tenants, your own physical boundary within the building.

What’s the difference between a private suite and a private cage?

Walls versus mesh. A cage is a secured, open-mesh enclosure inside the shared hall; a suite is a hard-walled room with its own door. Suites cost more per square foot, but for customers who need full physical separation, not just a locked perimeter, that’s the point.

When does a company need a suite instead of a cage or cabinets?

When the deployment is large enough, or sensitive enough, that shared hall space stops making sense. That’s usually driven by scale: dozens of cabinets’ worth of equipment, dedicated power requirements, or a workload the customer wants walled off entirely rather than just fenced off.

What’s included in a private suite lease?

Space, power, and cooling built to the density you need, plus the same carrier-neutral network access as the rest of the facility. Cross connects, remote hands, and managed install are billed separately, so the base rate reflects space and infrastructure, not bundled services you may not use.

Can a private suite scale into a full data hall or its own facility?

Yes, and that’s a common growth path. A customer starts with a suite sized to current needs, and as requirements outgrow that footprint, the conversation shifts toward build-to-suit development: a dedicated hall or campus built to their exact specification.
